Hi there! Welcome to the fundraising page for You First, a Wesleyan University senior thesis short film directed by Georgia Reed-Stamm.

This queer coming-of-age story follows two best friends during a seemingly ordinary afternoon after their first day of sophomore year of high school. Sam, the shyer counterpart to her bubbly best friend Noah, has just transferred schools. The pair reflect on the first day of school they’ve ever spent apart as they meander around their small town, until a breach of trust forces them to confront their anything-but-ordinary friendship.

Our nearly all-female team has been working hard in preparation for the start of production in mid-October, and we'd be so grateful for any support you'd be willing to provide — every donation is appreciated. These funds will help offset costs for camera equipment, insurance, food for our cast and crew, and travel costs, among other miscellaneous expenses. Post-production will last until April 2025 and donations are welcome at any point in the next 6 months. Support women in film and student filmmakers!
