Websleuths.com Needs Help
To all (Wonderful) Websleuths Supporters, and our very own Sleuths with a Purpose (members):
WE HIT OUR GOAL!
Thanks to a very generous anonymous donation a few days ago we hit our goal right on target.
Because of your generosity, we were able to pay the bills for the past six months and work on getting ready for our new software change over coming soon so thank you! We'd also like to thank those of you who sent notes of encouragement - these always mean more than you know.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
With a new look happening soon for Websleuths 2018 is going to be a very exciting year for SWAPs (Sleuths with a Purpose) as well as our faithful lurkers. Special shoutout to our tech guru, Dave, for all his hard work.
Please remember to stop by our Missing or Cold Case Forums even if it's only to post a simple message of compassion.
All of us can make a huge difference in someone's life with a simple post of encouragement to any case - unfortunately, we have thousands.
We receive emails all the time from families and friends who had been searching the Internet for information on a missing loved one or a case that's gone cold, they are so grateful to find, even one person posting on Websleuths about their loved one's case.
Our words have power. They have the power to help heal a heart, or break one... always remember this when posting on Websleuths.
Now Onward SWAPs!!
If you are not a SWAP (Sleuths with a Purpose), what are you waiting for? Register now!

PS. Below is the first post I made back at the end of July 2017
###
I purchased Websleuths in 2004 when it was much smaller and a very different forum than it is today. Since that time, over 13 years ago, we have never had to ask for donations until this July. So it is with a humble heart we come to you asking for your help.
Websleuths.com is a true crime discussion community made up of administrators, moderators, members, and visitors, offering insight and research on everything from the latest true crime to 100-year-old-cold cases. We are also a forum of caring people who do our best to help families of the missing and the victims of crime and their families
With over 127 thousand members and tens of thousands of visitors each day Websleuths continues to be the most respected true crime discussion forum on the Internet. On a daily basis Websleuths is utilized by law enforcement all over the world, families of victims needing help and quality information as well as countless media outlets and true crime researchers.
Due to an unexpected and significant drop in revenue a couple of months ago, Websleuths is in a financial bind. We are just beginning to see revenue from our new advertisers but they are still not making up for the
$5 -$10 thousand dollar monthly revenue drop.
Bills like the $1100 dollar per month server payment are paid first. It is the service contracts, things like payment to install the new software and other monthly financial obligations that need to be paid.
If Websleuths does not meet its ever-increasing financial obligations it could affect the quality and future of Websleuths.
If one-third of the people who visit Websleuths in a day make a $5 donation, Websleuths would be in the black very quickly.
Our motto is "Sleuths with a Purpose." With your help, we can make sure Websleuths continues to be the most respected true crime discussion forum on the net.
If donating puts any strain on your finances; please DO NOT DONATE. Whether it's $1 or $5 only donate if you are certain it is something you can afford.
Whether or not you donate you will always be a valued member of Websleuths. We will never charge for membership.
Funds donated will be used as outlined above and at the further discretion of management.
Thank you for your time and generosity. We are forever grateful to you.
Sincerely,
Tricia Griffith
