As we are developing fast and have a lot of great initiatives to start, we will keep the campaign active, and any fund beyond the costs of the websites will be used for other amazing WNPT initiatives which will be announced.

The World Network of Psychiatric Trainees is an online platform to connect early-career psychiatrists currently enrolled in official training programs (residency, fellowship, etc.) across the globe. It aims at being a space for borderless collaboration and peer-support, understanding the challenges and opportunities of psychiatric trainees across the world and supporting their integral development as current advocates for the best standards in training and for patients’ dignity, and as current and future national and international leaders in psychiatry.
It was founded in 2018 by Victor Pereira-Sanchez, by then a resident in general psychiatry in Spain, with collaborators at the European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT) and in different nations across continents. The network quickly expanded since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and currently involves members from all world regions, with a majority of colleagues from low and middle-income countries. We collaborate actively with the EFPT and national association of psychiatric trainees in all continents, as well as with the World Psychiatric Association Early Career Psychiatrists’ Section. We advocate for and support the establishment and strengthening of national associations of psychiatric trainees worldwide, and we look forward to the promotion of a world federation of psychiatric trainees in the near future.
Currently, the World Network of Psychiatric Trainees counts on more than 250 members from more than 50 countries, most of which are low and middle-income nations.
This campaign will gather funds to design, launch, and maintain our first official website. This website will allow our work to become more visible and help accomplish our objectives to benefit psychiatric trainees and people with mental health disorders across the world.
