Help, Cares and Prayers for Justin Richards
This is my brother-in-law, Justin Richards and sister Brandy Richards. They started their new life together on April 18, 2015 as husband and wife. One month later on May 20, 2015 Justin was coming home to his beautiful new wife when he was in a motorcycle accident. Since then Justin has been in stable but serious condition at OU Medical Center. He has already had 4 surgeries and they know there are more to come. The doctors are doing all they can to save Justin’s right leg and trying their best to fix the nerve damage on his left leg. Justin has many other wounds and has a long road ahead of him to recover from this tragic accident.
Justin is always that friend that is the first one to help and serve others in any way. Recently I had an accident and Justin was one of the first there cracking jokes and trying to make me laugh but mostly to let me know he was thinking about me and asking what could he do to help. Justin loves to laugh and make others laugh but most of all he loves to help others. I am sure that started while he was serving our country in the Air Force for 22 years and then started working as an EMT for a period after retiring from the Air Force.
Justin was recently laid off his job and had been working to remodel their home. Due to the accident Justin will be unable for some time to complete their remodel. We have no idea how long Justin will be in the hospital but what we do know is that when Justin is able to come home, their home is not accessible to his needs. He was in the process of a complete remodel to the only downstairs bathroom they have. We are asking help finically so that his family and friends could complete some home repairs and the remodel of this bathroom for Justin. If you are someone that could donate materials or remodel expertise that would be greatly appreciated too. If you are like Justin a “prayer warrior”, I know that he would be forever grateful for your prayers. Please pray for his strength and courage to endure each day and that the doctors will be able to save his leg. I know that they will have many medical expenses too that will be a burden that I would hate for this newlywed couple starting out. Brandy has been by Justin’s side every day in prayer, in tears and in fears of “what next”. I ask also that you pray for Brandy to have the strength to be able to handle Justin’s long term care.
Many family and friends have asked how they can help so I decided to start this page and let others know their needs because I know neither will ask for help. I know those that know Justin know that he is a very humble man that would never ask for help from anyone. He is always the one that helps others. He may dis-own me as a sister-in-law for me doing this but I am going to take my chances and share more about Justin to the public in hopes that others would find it in their heart to help Justin.
