Hello, my name is Deshanna "Nikki" Garrison and I recently married the love of my life, Webster “Webby” Garrison. If any of you know what TRUE LOVE is, you know that it is a time of overwhelming joy and dreaming of how wonderful the rest of your life will be. That is where our lives should be at this moment in time but due to the unforeseen joy thief called COVID-19, our dreams of how we imagined the rest of our lives has drastically changed.

My love was stricken with this awful virus in late March 2020 and was placed on a ventilator for two months. During his hospitalization, he suffered two strokes and has been left paralyzed on his left side. He has had some setbacks but has fought hard the entire time and is on a long road to recovery in his home state of Louisiana.

Webby is a wonderful husband, son, father, grandfather and among many other things who had a life of great success and accomplishments more specifically in the game of baseball. He was drafted with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1983 and later signed with the Oakland A’s and Colorado Rockies. He returned to the A’s in 1996 and made his major league debut later that season. In 1999, he started his coaching career with the A’s farm system and has been with them since. Coaching was his God given talent and he went on to coach/manage several other teams. Webby was set to do great things in 2020 including managing a rookie team in Arizona, then COVID-19 changed everything.

He previously was in a rehabilitation facility making progress but had a few setbacks and is currently back in the hospital. Due to COVID, the hospitals/rehabilitation facility limits the amount of contact you have with a patient. I spend all my time we have available each day to be with my love. My new role now has changed from nurse educator to his primary 24-hour caregiver.

I am reaching out to all of you for your help. He is being discharged soon and will be going home for the first time since March. I am overwhelmed with everything that I’ll have to do for him. He will require 24-hour care, wheelchair accessible living quarters, recovery supplies and will need to continue receiving weekly dialysis and physical therapy for an unknown amount of time. I'm also looking at purchasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle to transport him to dialysis and doctor's appointments. All of the funds raised will go towards all these expenses mentioned as well as other expenses that will come along the way.

We are forever humbled by any donations/contributions sent to help our cause. Please continue to pray for Webby on his long road to recovery.
