Brandy is a friend of mine. She is also a mother of two, a school counselor, a Cowboys fan, a Christian woman and a fighter!
She is back battling breast cancer, for the second time in her young life. After a procedure in October that triggered some falls and bone pain, further investigation revealed that the cancer had spread into her
bones, brain and spinal fluid. As you can imagine, this was the ultimate punch in the gut.
Brandy underwent surgery on Tuesday to put a rod in her femur to strengthen the bone. They also put a plate on her tibia and replaced the radial head on one of her elbows, as both those spots were touched by cancer also. Unfortunately, these are not all the places in her body that have cancer in them, but the ones that needed the most attention. She is in a lot of pain, but is still fighting and remaining so optimistic.
In the midst of the surgical rush, she leaned that the cancer had also spread to her brain and is in her spinal fluid. The largest spot on the brain is feared to start causing seizures so radiation on the brain is being ordered ASAP! She will also have treatment starting next week that will
address the lingering spots of breast cancer elsewhere in her body.
Brandy will also be starting an inpatient physical therapy regimen next week to get her strength and mobility back.
As you can only imagine, the costs are going to pile up quickly. She can
no longer work and will most likely be on long term leave until the
beginning of the year.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help her cover costs and expenses and take some financial burdens off her back. I’m also a survivor and know first hand how helpful it is not to have to worry about how bills will be paid in the midst of having to fight for your life.
Brandy is brave. Brandy is strong. She will fight. Please pray for her
healing everyday.
Thank you for your generosity, support and love.
