Weaver Family Total Loss House Fire
Donation protected
John and Julie Weaver, Andrews, NC natives, moved to Oak Island, NC in March of 2023 to retire and live close to their adult sons, Colten and AJ, who had moved there for college. John retired from federal law enforcement, where he was an EBCI Tribal Police Officer, serving Snowbird and Cherokee County. They left the life they built in Andrews for over 20 years and bought a beautiful home in Oak Island for themselves and their four fur babies, Itsy, Ming, Duke, and Abel, to enjoy retirement in and many visits and memories ahead with their sons. Devastatingly, on the night of June 4th, 2023, a faulty electrical outlet caused a house fire that completely engulfed their home and vehicles within 10 minutes, taking the lives of their four fur babies and countless family heirlooms and keepsakes from decades past with it. The product of their lifetime of hard work, precious memories, and their four little furry companions, were gone in an instant. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene, but were unable to save any of the home due to the severity of the fire. The home has been declared a total loss.
As a family friend, I am organizing this fundraiser to help the Weaver family with any expenses that they will incur while trying to figure out their next move. The donations will cover a temporary place to live, replacement of essential things like clothing, household items, etc., a rental vehicle if needed, food, gas, and any other bills that will have to continue being paid. I feel it is imperative that they do not have to worry about money, bills, or any other necessary/material things while they emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially recover from this traumatic event. Money won’t replace the lives of their four precious dogs or the countless heirlooms and keepsakes, but it will ease the undue stress of any expenses they incur while working out the details of everything else. Thank you, wholeheartedly, for any contribution made to this sweet family. God Bless!
