For over 15 years, I’ve made a living telling the truth through art—raw portraits of the human condition, massive murals, and commissions that favor soul over polish. Now, I’m channeling that same creative energy into a project unlike anything I’ve done before—one I’m building alongside my daughter.

Word to Your Wardrobe™ is our unapologetic love letter to slang.

The forgotten, the hilarious, the cringey. The stuff we used to say without thinking—until someone younger stared at us like we were dinosaurs.

It started as a joke: I’d toss out words like “rad,” “bodacious,” or—God forbid—“cool beans,” and Harper, my 12-year-old daughter, would immediately cringe. But something about that interaction kept tugging at me. These words weren’t just outdated expressions. They were emotional bookmarks—shortcuts to specific moments in time. A hallway crush. A summer road trip. A mixtape you made for someone who never called back.

WTYW taps into that exact feeling.

We believe language is one of our strongest memory triggers—and that old slang, especially the stuff you haven’t said in years, has the power to instantly pull you back into who you were then while honoring who you are now.
