The friends of a seaplane pilot are asking for help to fight for his innocence. To help pay for legal fees based on a fraudulent complaint sent to the FAA for flying his plane "low" while practicing takeoffs and landings with a rated flight instructor.
The Weaponization of ADS-b in the hands of stalkers, FAA employees who have it out for you, and anyone who wants to harass you.
This fight is NOT just about this pilot, but about EVERY PILOT that has ADS-b in their airplane!!!
The complaint was submitted by a FAA inspector who retrieved ADS-b data on an aircraft that was practicing takeoffs and landings. The complaint was based only on ADS-B data, which is not supposed to be used solely for enforcement. No one from the complaint saw the aircraft, took pictures, or video, or anything. We ask for help on this matter because of the harm it is doing to the safety of ADS-B data, the harm it is doing to your privacy as a pilot, and the harm it is doing to the integrity of the National Airspace System.
If the FAA wins the case against him, the case will set a precedent that airplanes, and seaplanes, will not have the right to land in any non-airport environment.
If the FAA wins the case, it means any person, or FAA inspector, can stalk and then file frivolous, exaggerated complaints against your flying without ever leaving their computer.
The Flight was what he and his Instructor friend both thought would be one of the best days of their life, turned into a nightmare. Thanks to ADS-b, the stalker gets a notice that he just flew his plane. Hands an exaggerated fraudulent complaint to the FAA supervisor claiming the uncorrected ADS-b data shows the plane flying low.
ADS-b is not accurate behind mountain ranges.
ADS-b is not supposed to be used solely for enforcement.
ADS-b shows the aircraft at -225 ft when it was at sea level
There were no complaints, just the inspector who may have put a tracker on the aircraft
There were no pictures of videos of anything in violation.
There were no previous violations against the pilot
The Pilot has a perfect flying safety record
NASA report filed, and denied.
The fight is currently at about $20,000 into legal fees, with it expected to go over $35,000 with trial set in December. He could have surrendered his licence and not paid anything, but is fighting for the right of every pilot who flies, and to fight to keep ADS-b a safe tool for aviators.
Please help us to help fight this. If this is what the FAA is doing now, what will they be doing in the future
