Call To Action: Please consider making a donation today, and help us spread the word to your family, friends and colleagues on Facebook, Instagram, through e-mail, or calls!!
Every donation is valuable: $5 - $500 donations (donations of any size are GREATLY APPRECIATED!)
Chicago Human Rhythm Project builds community through American tap and contemporary percussive arts in world class, innovative performance, education and outreach programs.
CHRP provides access to high quality educational experiences that are not available through most mainstream dance organizations to engage students K - 12 in the arts.
Chicago Human Rhythm Project celebrates the primal impulse to make rhythm and presents programs throughout the year that bring diverse individuals and communities together to share this common experience.
In 2022, we launched our arts incubator: the Mayfair Arts Center, or “MAC”. Continuing the work of the American Rhythm Center, the MAC serves more independent artists, more small to medium-sized dance companies and more children, teens, adults and elders - through classes, performances and business development services. Just as importantly, the MAC also honors the 65+ year legacy of Tommy and Peggy Sutton and the Mayfair Academy - a true South Side institution.
With the help of many generous individual donors as well as a grant from the City of Chicago’s Neighborhood Opportunity Fund, our RAISE THE ROOF campaign has raised $1.2 million toward the $1.5 million goal to repair, update, expand and thrive in this amazing facility in Calumet Heights.
Please help us RAISE THE ROOF and support us by making a donation today.
We are very grateful for your past support and look forward to seeing you in 2026 at the MAC, at our August Gala! JUBALEE, or at our 36th Annual summer festival RHYTHM WORLD, August 2 -9!
To learn more, please feel free to reach out to Derek Layne, General Manager of Marketing & Development.
Thank you once again and let's work together to TAP forward!
