The week of March 19th 2017 was literally the worst week of our entire lives. Everytime we turned around something else was happening that negatively affected my wife, my kids, and myself. On Wednesday March 22nd there was an active shooter at my wifes place of employment, the whole business was placed on lockdown, and unfortunately one person was killed. This individual was a very good friend to my wife, as expected she did not take this well. Between losing her friend and being in an active shooter situation she was an emotional wreck. She knew she needed to seek medical/psychological assistance so on Thursday March 23rd she made herself an appointment and called into work. She did inform her superior of her mental state and that she would be seeking medical/psychological help. She also let her superior know that she would bring a doctor's note when she returned to work. What happened next shocked us, they decided to let her go from her position and told her to reapply when she was feeling better. Because our household depends on both of our incomes this was extrememly devastating as well as stressful for us both. The next day on March 24th 2017 my entire world came tumbling down, i was woken up by a family member telling me that my mom had unexpectedly passed in her sleep. Anyone who knows me knows how incredibly close my mom and I were, she was an active part it our lives especially the kids. Due to this overwhelming and overbearing tragedy I was out of work on bareavement leave for a total of 13 days including weekends, although I did get bereavement pay and had some vacation being out of work did still negatively impact our household financially. Through all of this I have done everything I can to stay afloat and try to make it with what I had but unfortunately it was impossible to do so and I have now fallen behind. One positive that has come from the situation is I did help my wife appeal her termination and she was given her position back, however she does not start back until April 17th. It is extremely embarrasing and mortifying to me that it has come to me making this gofundme, I have never been the type who would ask for help but at this point I am running out of options. My little family and I truly appreciate anything that you may be able to contribute to help us get back on our feet. Thank you so incredibly much in advance.
