"How people die remains in the memory of those who live on."
Our family's lives changed forever on the early morning of September 15th, 2022. Our dear loving sister passed away in her Silver Spring home unexpectedly. Teah was 38 years young full of life, and exuded undeniable positive energy to everyone in her presence.
Teah was the staple of our family and a devoted single mother to her 13-year-old son Xaiver. The most important thing to Teah was family; Just before Xaiver was born, she moved back to be closer to family and help take care of her terminally ill mother. After her mother’s passing in 2015, Teah took the matriarch role to help support her father and two younger siblings. At the same time, she was serving her most prideful role, caring for her child with medical and neurological needs. She advocated for the neurodivergent community and always kept her son in anything his heart desired. Words cannot explain the pain and sorrow our family has unexpectedly experienced.
Our hearts are heavy for Teah's son Xaiver who stares into our eyes and asks, “what will happen to me in the future?” Although we’ll never find anything that can equate to or supersedes a mother’s love for her child, we will do everything to transcend her goals for her son. We are asking for donations to help support Xaiver and the family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and assist in any way possible. May God bless the soul of Teah Dee (Seals) Smalls.
