“After serving the locals from the village, the missions team looked at the sea of people coming for medical help and realized there wasn’t anymore medical supplies to give care to all. They immediately turned to the Lord, asking Him to work a miracle. After they prayed, they opened the boxes and bags that were once empty. To their shock and amazement, the Lord did exceedingly and abundantly more than they asked; He multiplied the medicines and medical supplies! Not only did they serve and care for all of the people in the village and for the people who traveled hours to receive help, but they had left overs!”

 

This is the story I remember as a little girl when my mom came back from her first medical missions trip. I have dreamed of the day that the Lord would one day give me the opportunity to do the same and to see the God of the Bible do only what He can. This summer, I have a unique opportunity to travel on my first medical missions trip to KENYA!

 

We will be traveling to Mountain Mlima Hospital that was founded by Bishop Joseph Likavo( a partner of Focal Point Church) where we will be serving the locals, from the city of Eldoret, as well as the many people who travel by foot for hours and even days to receive medical help and care. They are lined up from the early morning hours until they close. Bishop Joseph Likavo founded this hospital with the vision of evangelism through healthcare and medical camps. So as we are getting to help in the hospital we also get the opportunity to pray with them and share the gospel. Although I am not a medical professional, I believe the Lord has given me a heart to see people healed mentally, physically and spiritually. I desire to see and am expectant to see God do what only He can.

 

At Focal Point church we believe in taking ordinary people and turning them into extraordinary difference makers. As a follower of Jesus I believe we are to live a life on mission. In doing so we can see true impact by showing Christs love and ultimately seeing this shift in the nations our world so desperately needs.

 

For the past 7 years I’ve been an active member of Focal Point Church, serving in various positions on the worship team, the prayer team, kids ministry and our local missions. But the one thing I haven’t been able to do just yet is to go and serve on a international missions trip. I have a desire to see the God of the Bible impact not just here in our country but to see Him impact the nations.

 

The dates for travel are June 29th - July 11th. The cost of this trip is $3500. This will cover the cost of flights, ground transportation, food, hotel accommodations, visas, vaccines etc. I will keep you updated through posts here and through out this time leading up to this trip.

I am very excited for what the Lord is doing and excited to partner with Him where He is at work.
