Patrick Pitts, We're With You!

Patrick has mouth Cancer.    His words:

Unfortunately it’s in my palate, nerves and bones in my upper jaw.

This will require surgery which is scheduled for Dec 31st and will hospitalize me for a week or so.

They will take a good part of my upper palate, some teeth (to get to the bone) and some of the nerves in my mouth which means I will never be able to feel this part of my mouth again.

I will most likely need a breathing tube and will have a feeding tube for a week or two depending on how quickly my mouth heals.

They will take skin from my left arm to patch it closed but that’s a “game-time” decision for the surgeons.

Then when that heals, radiation is likely daily for 6 weeks.

I’m terrified and I want to run far away.  I know that’s not an option.

So I will face my fears and trust in the doctors and just promise each and everyone of you all (and myself) that you have not seen the best version of me.

I will fight. I will recover. I will rise.
