We're stuck in Australia!

Hey everybody, 

Thanks for taking the time to hear about our situation. 

We've been stuck in Australia for just over 6 months now, with no end in sight. Or maybe the end is in sight. It's a bit unclear. Although we are actively pursuing options to return home, one thing is clear: we will be overstaying our visas (which end on 2 September). 

So we're applying for new visas. They cost $1065 each. Times 3 makes $3195. And when we do find a way home, we face a fortune in airfare (current estimates suggest it will cost at least $2500 per person for the 3 of us). 

Which is why we're turning to you for help. As much as we'd love to be successful, self-reliant and independent people... we're just not. It's humbling to realise how much we depend on the good will and kindness of others right now.
