As most of you know, we have had quite a year in 2021 so far! We are now in such a difficult time. This hurts to our core to even do this but we really don't have a choice. Two weeks ago we came home from our full time jobs to standing water in our home! Figure out after Servpro came out and had to tear apart our guest bath and tear up ALL of our carpet along with a plumber coming out that it was a slab leak. We had to get our water shut off and it has been off for two weeks. Plumbers won't fix the leak due to it being galvanized piping so we have to have it repiped or the issue will just happen again. During the same time we made an insurance claim and we were told that everything was covered, had servpro come out being that was told to us that it was covered with our insurance as well, then even had the adjuster come out. Derek had to constantly call the insurance people all while having to work being they were not calling us at all. Then two weeks later we are told that there is a water exclusion on our policy that was not explained to us and the reason is that our home is over 40 years old and this agency doesn't cover homes over 40 years old so there had to be a clause. None of this was made aware to us! Within these weeks we tried staying at family homes and it was just too difficult so we are staying in the home with a 1 1/2 year old and no running water. We have to bathe and wash things at my mom and mother in law's home. Then with all this being said we can't even have our girls with us being we don't have anywhere for them to sleep or running water at our home for them so we have to plan days with them and that is not fair. We work too hard to live through this and it is not fair at all. Our house was our pride and joy and now we can't even be happy with it. Please help!
