We Will Be Your Voice, Todd!

Thank you for taking the time to read this unique story about our son, brother and husband, Todd. In early July, Todd was diagnosed with a rare form of vocal cord cancer, and he recently began a six-week radiation treatment. Today, Todd let us know he’s doing fine but is fatigued and has completely lost his voice.
Ironically, Todd’s friend Billie was diagnosed several years ago with a similar rare vocal cord cancer. The day Todd found out, he wrote her a song to cheer her up called “I Will Be Your Voice.” Billie told Todd the song was not just meant for her, but for all those fighting cancer, all who have survived, all who we have lost, and all those left behind. So, Todd began writing more songs in hopes of helping those going through Billie’s challenging situation. We are still coming to terms with the fact Todd is now one of those suffering through the same set of circumstances. What are the chances?
The real tragedy here is how much Todd loves singing and playing guitar for others. So many nights, we have sat around Todd in the living room, singing along to his beautiful voice and accompaniment. He has been singing and playing guitar since he was a teenager and has blessed many with his wonderful voice and talent.
Todd’s chances of getting through the cancer and treatment are very positive. However, there is no guarantee that he will sing again. Although we are optimistic the treatment will work, there is always the chance it may not, or the cancer could return.
This could result in Todd permanently losing his voice and requiring a voice box to speak.
We are preparing to be Todd’s voice while he silently goes through this difficult time. We have created this Go Fund Me account to raise $10,000 to help cover medical expenses and lost wages as Todd undergoes treatment.
Thank you for being so supportive; we greatly appreciate it!
