We weren't ready to say good bye.

My husband kissed me good bye for the last time Nov12 2021. After 28 years of happily ever after, I will never know the security of my husband arms again, or snuggle in to his warm body with my cold feet. Our critters are confused why he is not sitting in his chair. Its heartbreaking.
That Friday, in November was a beautiful night for a ride. He called his friend Joe to find out if his bike was ready to go. He was looking foward for this long awaited ride. He wasn't more than a mile away from Joe's shop when a pedestrian collided with him. The pedestrian survived. My husband died on the street.
The Torrance Police are investigating what happened, it has been over a month and its still on going. Meanwhile my husband's motorcycle is in the impound yard, not only is the bike not being protected from the elements, the fees are adding up. It would be insult to injury if we can't afford to bring his Harley-Davidson back home.
My husband's name is Don "Donny" Sorrell. He is survived by myself, his son Darrin, my son Matthew, and his two sisters, Karen and Karol. Along with a multitude of good friends who miss him as much as we do. . Donny, was old school, he wasn't one for on line social media, He preferred face to face conversations, I guess you could say his social media was a pool table. He enjoyed the game, played it well, and according to his close friend Cliff Davis, he was tough to beat. Donny played in a couple of 8 ball leagues, this took him to many venue's, where he made many friends.
Donny was the last of a dying breed,, He wouldn't think twice about giving the shirt off his back, or give his last dollar to someone in need. It was not in his nature to drive by a stranger stuck on the side of the road. He had to stop, no matter what. All those that knew him knew that they had a friend for life, someone they could trust and depend on.
One of his favorite expressions was
" No Good Deed goes unpunished" but yet he still was compelled to help others.
His absence is felt through out the community.
Donny was a hard-working man with little reward to show for it, but we were happy, and that is something money can't buy.
Donny's life came to a a tragic end, too soon. We were not prepared to say good bye
Please help us tie up loose ends, and help him rest in peace.
