We welcome your support to help my brother, Greg.

My name is Janice Urquhart and I have started this fundraiser to raise funds for my younger brother, Greg, to pay medical expenses as well as living expenses. Greg has been living with advanced colon and bladder cancer for the past year and has been in treatment for that long. He had to have a colostomy and two nephrostomies in February because the 6” tumor is entangled with the colon, bladder, and prostate. He has completed 12 rounds of chemo infusions at Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston, a 2 hour drive each way. He completed 28 days of radiation on Nov. 7, 2023. The radiation has left him extremely fatigued and the chemo has caused neuropathy in his feet and hands. Still looming is needed surgery to remove the cancer. We were told that the surgery will be “big” and the risks are high. We are thankful that the tumor has responded to the treatment and has shrunk. Greg is also dealing with another expected very high deductible coming in the new year for his health insurance. Before the cancer diagnosis, Greg worked for the town of Dennis on Cape Cod for 25 years working outside fixing anything that needed fixing. He then worked for a local herb farm doing landscaping, planting, and loving working with his hands outside. He is also a pen and ink artist and he paints beautifully, too. He loves to fish and make stuffed quahogs. He is not able to do any of that now. Greg is a gentle soul and so kind. I am so proud to be his sister. He is living with our 93 year old Mom who is independent and healthy but Greg’s difficult journey has been so hard for her and the whole family. We would be so grateful for any financial help you can offer. I will make sure it goes to Greg and his expenses. Greg is exhausted and has been fighting so hard to live.
