We ❤️ the Ericksons!

Unexpectedly on December 15 my baby girl was admitted to the hospital,  even more unexpectedly I received a text message from Mandi asking if I was in fact at Chester County Hospital and letting me know that Logan (4)  had been admitted earlier that day with pneumonia.  To make the situation even worse, the following day the Erickson's other son, Brokk (5 mos.), was admitted to the hospital but then released shortly after.  Sadly, he took a turn for the worse and was readmitted the following day.  They found out that Brokk has Human Metapneumovirus and then later found out he has Pneumonia as well.  The Doctors and Nurses at the hospital provided great care, but decided that transferring Brokk to A. I. DuPont would be the best place for him. So as Brokk was being transferred to DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware, Logan had recovered and was being released to go home.  

Mandi has done a great job of keeping us all up to date these last several days, we have heard that Brokk has had good moments and then very terrible, scary moments at DuPont.  Brokk is still in the Pediatric ICU with a feeding tube and oxygen support.

Mandi and Drew's Christmas wish had been that they would all be home together to celebrate, however December 25 will not be spent all together so Christmas will be postponed until they can be. 

I know this has been breaking so many peoples hearts this last week as we have followed the Erickson’s journey through this tough time.  So many of us know and love them and have felt their love in return many times over and are just heartbroken that they are enduring this and want to help in any way possible.

While I know there is absolutely no place Mandi and Drew would rather be than by their boys sides, i also know that their minds will have drifted once or twice to the looming hospital bills, the fact that they have not been working, etc...

We, as their village, have a tangible way to show our love and care for them by helping them cut the costs of two unexpected, lengthy hospital visits.
