I am sharing this without my sisters knowledge. My sister, Rebecca Gudaitis is the most selfless person I’ve ever met. I am bias however she truly is a selfless caregiver. She would literally give you the shirt off her back. That being said, if she knew I was doing this she would probably tell me “no”. But, sorry Rebecca, your loved ones want to help. You guys have suffered enough, please allow us the opportunity. It's the least we could do.
As most of you are aware, my brother in-law Nate has been suffering from complications as a result of abdominal surgery late 2019. He has been in and out of the hospital for months.
On January 10, 2021, Nate was admitted to Maine Medical Center with more complications and extremely low blood pressure.
As of today's date, Nate is in the Intensive Care Unit fighting for his life on a ventilator. He was placed on a ventilator after having severe difficulty breathing and maintaining vital signs on his own. I don't have all the specifics, however what I can share is that he has a severe infection affecting his liver and kidneys and he was placed in a medically induced coma to help his body fight the infection.
Becca and Connor (my nephew) are not allowed to be at his bedside due to hospital restrictions therefore Becca is still going to work to keep herself occupied (she wants nothing more than to be with Nate). Unfortunately, given the aforementioned circumstances of Nate being in and out of the hospital, he has used up all of his sick time therefore he is not getting paid. Nate is an extremely dedicated, hard worker. So much so, he was working just two days prior to being admitted to Maine Med.
We are creating this page to support Nate, Becca and Connor during this unforeseen, unpredictable situation. We are praying for Nate to pull through.
