Our dear friend and co-worker Ibtissam was recently diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).  At the time of her diagnosis she was 27 weeks pregnant with her first baby, a little girl.  She was transferred to UF Health in Gainesville, FL to see a cancer specialist.  For both their benefits, everyone agreed to hold off on chemotherapy until the baby is born.  On top of being a new mom, Ibtissam is a smart, beautiful, promising young nurse.  She started her career with us as a nurse's aid while working towards her BSN.  After passing her boards she returned to the unit as a nurse.  She and her husband recently bought a new house to live their life together as a family of three.  Donations will go towards both Ibtissam's treatment and NICU care for her baby girl.
