Many people have heard of Brandon’s story. Brandon Enoch was wrongfully terminated from his position as Director of Parks and Recreation in Pickens County. Brandon accepted this position in 2021 and moved his family from Greensboro NC to Pickens SC. He immediately made an impact on the community by being a great mentor to the youth and improving the athletics. With everything on his plate Brandon extended his hospitality even further by helping a local homeless man. Brandon provided clothing for him and in return “Big E” would help improve the facilities under Brandon’s supervision. Some people in the community weren’t ok with what Brandon was doing so he was terminated from his job via text. Since being in South Carolina Brandon has lost his grandfather, his mother, and now his job.
A council meeting was held this week to have his job reinstated. Hundreds of people showed up in support of Brandon and spoke on his behalf. As the meeting adjourned, Brandon also had the support of the Mayor and a councilman, but four other councilmen voted to keep him terminated. This has caused an uproar in the community as some people say Pickens County isn’t ready for “Change”.
I feel like we must take action. I have decided to launch this GoFundMe to support what some may call racial injustice. With a family to support and the holidays around the corner it is our turn to give back to Brandon. The Enoch family has been overwhelmed with your positive words and would be beyond grateful for any donations made. If you are unable to make a financial contribution please share this message anywhere you can.
Thank You
