I believe in the saying "one person can make a difference," but imagine what could happen if we all came together to make a change. This is a strange time we are in now, and it is easy to feel like you can't be of value. Before the country went into social isolation, I would run charity 5K races with hundreds to thousands of people. During these unprecedented times, we are unable to come together to complete activities such as the 5Ks I used to run. This is where the idea to have a together, yet apart 5K race came from. On Sunday, May 17th, 2020 at 11:30am EST/ 8:30am PST, people from all over the country can come together to run those 3 miles and make a difference. You should be able to map a 3 mile course near your home that is most convenient for you.
All donations will be sent to the World Health Organization to aid in fighting COVID-19. A runner's bib will be emailed to anyone who makes a donation of $20 or more (make sure to enter your email when making a donation)! You will be able to print the bib out and wear it while running, or walking, or thinking about the 3 miles. During your 5K, we can come together on Instagram or Facebook live, or any social platform you want! After the 5K, everyone should share a photo of themselves with their bib and hashtag the photo with #run2savelives. We can get through this together. We can make a change.
