We need your help to keep Teviotdale bonnie !!

A group of local Teviothead residents who are highly concerned about the disproportionate size and scale of these enormous turbines and their dominating impact on our natural environment and landscape are meeting regularly to prepare a formal objection.

Teviothead is an area in the southern Scottish Borders surrounded by pristine environments and is ecologically/historically/culturally critical for this beautiful area.

In hiring professional help for our endeavour, we will/are incurring significant costs. The power companies have ample funds to push their agenda. However, the local residents, whose decisions those companies affected and will affect, do not.

We urge people to look at the planning application, which you can view on the Scottish Governments Energy Consents Unit Website HERE and type Teviot in the search box. Contact local councillors and MPs to voice your concerns. Your opinion DOES matter.

62 turbines up to 240 meters high (3 times the size of the Scott Monument in Edinburgh)

46 kilometres of new roads over the hillsides

Additional areas for turbine bases, hard standings, turning areas, substations, borrow pits, battery storage

Thousands of tons of concrete poured into turbine bases

Solar array the size of 60 football pitches

Removal of existing forest, peatland, and natural grasslands

Loss of habitats for native birds, insects, and animals

Major traffic disruption during the 3-year construction phase affecting Hawick and surrounding areas
