We need Kay. Kay needs money. We can help.
To me, Kay will always be a six year old on her way to Disney, swinging her little feet in the backseat. Happy in that moment. Most of us lose the sunshiny joy of childhood, but not Kay.
She has been, and hopefully will continue to be, a point of light in all our lives.
But now she needs our help.
Her medial odyssey began several months ago with a diagnosis of kidney cancer, which she faced with the attitude of "OK, take it out! I got things to do!". Then came the realization that the cancer had spread to her bones. "OK. Fix it! I'm busy here!"
Little did she know that oncologists flinch and make the sign of the cross when they see bone cancer.
She's fighting a really nasty cancer. One that terrorizes you with pain and paralyzes you with fatigue.
We can’t fight the cancer for her, but we can fight the despair, the loneliness and the fear.
We can shoulder one burden for her.
We can give her the money to make everything a little easier.
The money to order pizza when there's nothing in the fridge because grocery shopping was just unthinkable.
The money to pay bills without color sorting them into red ones first.
The money to go to the mailbox without quite so much dread.
We must all stand up.
We must raise Kay up beyond the reach of financial terrors.
When she beats this disease we will all be proud that when the call came to stand up, we made the damn bleachers rumble.
Please donate what you can.
As soon as you can. I hate to even say it, but time is of the essence.
Thank you.
