More information about CORR, Inc.: CORR takes in those dogs that need a bit extra before finding their permanent homes. Many times the dogs have encountered "shelter stress" and they either shut down or react in ways that is not their normal behaviors. CORR started in 2022, but the founders have been doing rescue work with special dogs for 25+ years.
Most of the dogs that arrive at CORR are very fearful, not leash trained, and scared of people. Some have physical injuries that will need emergency medical care.
Most of the dogs that CORR takes in will need 6 months to a year to heal the emotional stress and physical injuries they have endured. It takes many months to show the dogs that people are good and not to be feared. We take as much time as the dogs need to recover.
These long term projects take a lot of time from the volunteers and money to give them continued support.
This is the wonderful Sage, who has gone from so sick and needy to a vibrant and beautiful companion to her new owner. Sage was with CORR for nine months.
Beautiful Ivan, who underwent over $12,000 in emergency care to overcome his pneumonia and injuries. Ivan was with CORR for 14 months.
Wonderful Sable, our newest addition who will arrive the first week of January, 2024. Sable was caught in a trap and is terrified of people. Her foot that was in the trap and her mouth that was injured trying to chew the trap off will heal. Her fear of people will take much longer and will probably be with CORR for 6 months to a year or more.
