Hey everyone, we’re moving!
We no longer feel safe due to the increase in violent crime in our neighborhood. After discussing it together, we reviewed our finances and determined that we can afford the higher monthly rent in a safer area. However, there are many upfront expenses associated with moving that we need to cover before our move in date but don’t currently have. Such as application fees, security deposits, pet deposits, moving supplies, a moving company, first month’s rent, and other miscellaneous costs that come up during the process.
We will be able to handle the month to month expenses once we move, but we really need help with the initial move in costs.
We are seeking to raise $7,000.
$4,000 is the minimum needed to cover security deposits, application fees, pet deposits and fees, and the first month’s rent (due to the timing of the move, we will be paying the last month at our current apartment while also paying the first month at the new one).
$2,000 is what we anticipate needing for moving supplies and a moving company.
$1,000 would provide a buffer for any unexpected move out costs, fees, or taxes.
We appreciate any help that can be offered, whether it’s donating or sharing this fundraiser. We will keep you all updated and, of course, share pictures once we get into our new place.

Hey everyone,
We wanted to give you all an update.
We’ve officially been approved for an apartment in a much safer area, and our move in date is set for May 11th. We can’t thank you enough. Your support has helped make this possible.
We also want to be fully transparent. After getting the move in packet, the deposits ended up being lower than we originally expected. Because of that, we’re going to lower our overall fundraising goal to better reflect what we actually need.
Our new goal will be $5,500
$2,500 for security deposits, application fees, pet deposits/fees, and first month’s rent
$2,000 for moving supplies and a moving company
$1,000 as a buffer for any unexpected move-out costs, fees, or taxes
We still need help covering these upfront costs, but we want to be as honest and accurate as possible with everyone who’s supporting us.
