We need Deaf British Sign Language Teachers

Hi. My name is Julie and I’m raising money to help my daughter complete her training to become a qualified British Sign Language teacher

She is profoundly deaf, has Level 3 BSL and many years experience of working with Deaf children and teaching Deaf Studies

The course she wants to take is

Level 5 Diploma and Education (DTLLS)

and her eventual goal is to qualify to teach BSL at GCSE level.

The introduction of the BSL GCSE in England has been delayed because of the lack of qualified teachers.

My daughter has already completed some training while working and looking after her family.

The cost at the moment is £990 (including VAT) which is out of her means

To complete this course would open up a whole new world to my daughter. She is passionate about spreading awareness of the need for more people in all walks of life to have more understanding of the Deaf, their culture and their language.
