It is June in the south and our Air Conditioner/ heat pump just died a horrible death. Today we were told our air conditioner will need over $1600 in parts alone, plus labor. The compressor is shorted out, which was caused by another expensive part which must also be replaced. Basically this 18year old AC unit is not worth repair.
A new heat pump is $4500.
Because it is more than a full time job to rescue eagles, owls, hawks, and more; Steve can not work more than part time jobs without a lot of animals dying because he cannot help them. That makes us a single income family. We have been struggling to make ends meet, and have succeeded until now.
This hits us at a time when we have been tapping our limited resources to help feed the rescued animals when the wildlife refuge does not have enough money to support them.
