I rarely ask for help but this time I have no choice. We cannot come up with the money fast enough to address this emergency. Two nights ago, our dug well has run dry. We got some rain last night and today that has helped enough to allow us to flush our toilet but we can't continue on at this rate. I reached out and had someone compile an estimate for us to have a new well drilled and at the very least, it will be $9,000 for the job to be completed. They can complete the job in 2 days.

We bought this house in 2014 with hopes of making this our forever home. I was an active duty Marine at the time and now that I have retired, financial hardships hit us really hard as it took the VA over a year to sort out what my disability rating would be. I am now an 85% disabled Marine Veteran. I don't tell everyone this out of sympathy but to highlight the fact that my body can't handle the demand needed to perform a military contracting job where money like this could be made based on my skill set.

My wife and I both work. She is an LNA at an assisted living community and I am a safety manager for a construction company. My oldest son has enlisted in the Marines and is stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC while my 11 and 13 year old son and daughter are still here with us at home.

We can't shower, use our washer or even clean dishes out of fear that we will take whatever water is still left down there. 

Our animals up in the barn are getting their water from a brook down the road and our dogs and cats are getting bottled water like us.

We've had a drought this year and it doesn't look like we're going to get enough rain to recharge the well before the ground freezes in the coming months. Our only option is to have a new well dug.
