We got a new property! Let’s build a facility!

My name is John and I am a dog rescuer that lives just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My life is entirely dedicated to the animals and I have given everything I have to them and to rescue.

Over the years, through my organization Ruff Riders, I have assisted over 1200 dogs and cats from northern Canada in their search for forever, driving over 100,000km in the process (you can watch a documentary about that here https://youtu.be/F402t0a2OP0 ) I have been a foster parent to 30 dogs, most of which had no where else to go. I call them the Misfits. I try my hardest to rehabilitate them and turn them into loving family members for adoption and have been mostly successful doing this.

I have now purchased a large acreage. It is everything myself and my dogs need and it will allow myself and Ruff Riders to operate more effectively. The lot is large (25 acres) and very private. I am going to be building a small home for myself and dogs there. This I can do. But I cannot build anything for rescue purposes without some extra help, and winter is coming. This go fund me is to help with the costs associated with getting this new property rescue operational as quickly as possible.

For years, my home has been a safe place for animals in need, no matter what those needs were. With a solid community behind me, we have faced both triumph and tragedy. For me, personally, it is time to level up. We now have a homebase we will not outgrow for a long time, and I intend on putting it to use as quickly as I possibly can. I promised my home would always be a safe place to the ones who need it most, and it always will be. With your help, we can get more infrastructure built quickly and properly so that work can continue on a larger scale.
