update on funeral service below~
Brian, Duross, Dewey, or better how we know him, “it’s DuDu baby!” was the biggest ball of energy and embodiment of love and fun any of us have had the pleasure of knowing.
Brian’s love he unwilling gave and joy he brought to our lives made him one of the most magnetic and unforgettable friends any of us has ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with.
His passion for life was a ray shining through anyone who got to know him and be in his presence. He always kept us on our toes with his creative ideas and unique themes amongst friends whenever he planned activities. Without a doubt, he always made everyone feel so loved and appreciated with his radical inclusion and his visions he brought to light.
It is with heavy hearts that we share Brian passed on October 15th, leaving all of us deeply saddened to never have those experiences he made so special for us again. While he was successful in everything he did building his career and his life outside of us all, he maintained a youthful perspective. He made us feel like kids again with his playfulness, silliness, joyfulness, being so friendly, and making friends everywhere he went. His love for events and music with his friends was his favorite part of the weekends, creating memories everywhere he went, releasing his inhibitions and putting all his funky dance moves on the table. The splits, the worm, wrapping up his friends in fairy lights to do the shimmy, or making a limbo with the lights, anything to hype up the mood, you name it. His love for his friends and the sparkle he brought to us all is as unequivocal as the love he had for his family- his, brother, sisters, dad and nephews.
Brian was always thriving every moment you ever looked at him, and we can all say he made a beautiful imprint on our lives in so many special ways.
This GoFundMe page is to help alleviate his family from any financial costs. The community and lifelong friendships he has created along the way are so special, and we would love to extend that love to his family and help out with memorial and funeral costs in the midst of grieving their son, brother, and uncle. Dewey was family to us, a best friend and brother to many, and his loss will forever hurt all of us.
On Saturday October 28th in San Diego, we will be holding a bonfire celebration of life in Ocean Beach off Saratoga Ave at 3pm till after sundown to honor Dewey amongst one another to celebrate his amazing life. As he would plan a theme for everything, in his honor we encourage you to wear your best Cow print or bright colors! Home is where the herd is…
We’re in the process of making memorial cards to commemorate and celebrate Dewey, and would love to mail you one once we have them! At the celebration, we’ll have a sign in book for everyone to share their addresses. If you feel inclined, please also share any memories or loving things about Dewey (think year book style) and we will share it with his family as a gift and expression of our love for him.
As we get more details on the upcoming memorial/ funeral we will update everyone on here or through socials:
