We miss running with David. When friends arrived at a group run and saw David's infectious smile, it always brightened spirits of everyone in the group.

Because of a horrible disease called ALS, David can no longer run with us. With Stephanie, family and friends, and God by his side, he continues to fight ALS with indomitable courage and grace.

Physical and emotional challenges aside, even with the benefit of sound insurance coverage, a disease of this sort also takes a toll on personal finances. The out-of-pocket costs of ramps, wheelchairs, specially equipped vans, etc. quickly add up.

A while back, David posted this about the running group: "My running friends of 18 years. You rock! It’s been my life. We’ve run from SF and back or more over time. It’s one of the best accomplishments in my life. Some I’ve seen their backs and others mine. "

Whether David has been your running buddy, workmate, soccer coach or simply friend, you can help David and Stephanie by contributing. While I was always at his back running, I am honored to have his back now.
