On February 3rd, Josh Stratton was admitted to the hospital for insane tiredness. What began as difficulty walking up the stairs had rapidly escalated into a feeling he described as not knowing if he would wake up the next morning. He was quickly admitted and informed that his hemoglobin was critically low: he required an immediate blood transfusion. Josh has been in the hospital ever since (going on 2 weeks): away from his family and his job, and receiving daily blood transfusions to counteract the blood loss.

Doctors attempted to locate the bleeding but were initially stumped by the cause. There was discussion about lymphoma or autoimmune disorder as possible causes as the family waited anxiously for more information.

After inconclusive initial results and exploratory surgery, the doctors found what they believe to be a benign mass in his small intestine, consistent with angiomatosis.

On Monday, Feb 19, Josh will undergo surgery to remove the mass along with 2-3ft of his small intestine. This surgery is intense and recovery will not be easy. Josh is unable to currently work and it is unknown when he will return to work. Josh has two small kids and his partner at home who are working hard to hold the fort. We love Josh so much and he is always willing to help anyone and everyone. He would NEVER ask for help on his own, so we really want to step up and support him and his wonderful family.
