We love Shawna

If you know Shawna,  you know she has a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back in a heartbeat if you needed it.  She is wonderful mother, daughter, sister and an amazing friend. 

2020 has not been a kind year for anyone, especially Shawna. On June 25 she experienced a stroke that left her with a paralyzed face, ringing in her ears, headaches and numbness in a few fingers, loss of balance, among other side effects.  It started with a blood clot in her leg that moved up to her brain stem which in turn caused an AVM (artery brain malformation) that caused her to have the stroke. 

After countless doctors appointments and major scans it’s been determined that because of the way this AVM wrapped around her brain stem her condition is inoperable. Her only option at this point is a very risky new trial procedure that will radiate the area around her brain stem hoping to unblock this AVM.  

At this point she is not allowed to work due to the damage caused by the stroke. Even after the procedure doctors are unsure when she will be allowed to return.  She does not qualify for CRB and is unsure if and when long term disability will kick in.

I know many people want to help but don’t really know how. I believe this fundraiser will help her out more than anything and ease her worries, even for a little while.
