Dear Friends of Lynne,
PLEASE DO NOT SHARE PUBLICLY on Facebook or any social media. Lynne is sensitive to the people that she loves and serves, both here and in the Dominican Republic, that are hurting in their own financial situations. If you know someone who may want to contribute please share the link via email or text, but not publicly.
It took a lot of convincing for Lynne to be willing to let me do this. That said, it's in her best interest. Lynne will not be monitoring this account as she would prefer to not know the amounts that people have donated. I will be giving her a list of names of people that have contributed as well as comments you leave so she is aware and has the ability to thank you, in time. My contact information is below if Venmo or writing a check is better for you, please feel free to contact me.
Lynne needs our help. Lynne is going through a life hardship that is making it necessary for her to teach part time this coming school year. I’m setting up a GoFundMe for Lynne to offset her burden allowing her to focus on the challenges at hand and the overwhelming daily tasks and appointments she is a part of. I won’t go into details, as I prefer to preserve Lynne’s privacy.
I set the 'goal' at $1.00 as Lynne is not comfortable having a money goal, as is traditionally done. Any and all funds will be a blessing to her. She will not be receiving about 40% of her salary this year.
Any that know Lynne know SHE is the one helping any and all in need 24/7/365! Lynne has taught Human Interaction at Casa for 25 years. She has positively impacted and influenced thousands of Petaluma students and their families, as well as so many other local families and all those connected in any way to her non-profit, Una Vida. I was blessed to spend time in Lynne’s classroom last year, and witnessed her extraordinary gifts and talents, her long and tireless hours, feeding students and nurturing students in an amazingly authentic way. I observed from a distance teens that were hurting, in despair, and/or possibly contemplating suicide, and know that Lynne took her personal time to guide them, listen and hold space. I saw these young adults turn unbelievably tough situations around, become inspired, and gain self esteem by being motivated to contribute to their community.
Lynne is a literal LIFESAVER. I stand in awe to be honest. I’ve said the words to her so many times: “You AMAZE me! How do you do it??” Being in her home during the fires was so telling. She didn’t sleep for a week during that difficult time in Sonoma County, because she, on a dime, turned her house into a central command center to organize supplies, food donations, and anything and everything else those affected needed.
So here is where we all come in, and how we can finally give a little back to this Earth angel in her time of need. Please join me in raising funds to ensure Lynne has a bit of peace during this time. No amount is too small. Let’s shower Lynne with love, as she has done to all of us! ! As Lynne often says, “It takes a village….. or 3!” I know there are no words to truly express how much she will appreciate your love, support and generosity.
THANK YOU in advance for BEING A BLESSING to Lynne!
Side note: Our Moms were dear friends in the 1970’s, playing tennis and bridge together as well as helping in community events. Sadly, they both passed away much too young in their 40’s, only months apart in 1981, coincidentally and unexpectedly. Her parents were the ULTIMATE community givers with the biggest hearts on Earth, as is Lynne. This feels somewhat full circle, for her and I to be reunited in life as adults, and to lean on and help each other through some extremely tough life situations.
Much love and gratitude,
Lisa
