Update: Liz has passed away. November 4th, 2024.
Rod is still in need of funding to help pay for the funeral expenses. He still has a few medical bills that need to be paid as well. Rod appreciates all those that have given as well as prayed.

Update: Liz spent the last week in the hospital and was extremely disoriented. She is very weak and her blood levels were all over the place. At one point, she did not know who Rod was. Today 7/25/24 she was able to go home. She is doing a little better. She is very tired and is on oxygen. Rod found a chair online to take her up the 22 steps to get up to their apartment. Liz is in her recliner resting at home. Last Tuesday they had to get another ambulance ride for her to get to the hospital. Every ride is $1200+. Their insurance does not cover that. The bills continue to grow. Any help would be grateful.

As of Monday, November 6th, Liz couldn’t get chemo again due to bloodwork being off. She had to have another infusion for magnesium and potassium. Thankfully she had a little more energy last week and was able to get out to spend time with family. She’s sick this week from the infusion. Please keep praying! Thank you again to all who’ve donated and continue to pray!

A quick update:
Liz was able to restart chemo last week but was very sick over the weekend. If we could keep the prayers coming, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all who have donated and are keeping Liz lifted in prayers. ~Christina 10/30/23

My name is Christina O’Leary. I met Rod and his wife at their store in Fremont a few weeks ago and I felt called to start this page, in hopes to help relieve some of their medical expenses. A long time friend of Liz’s, Katie Grinage-Miles and Victor Du Bois, have been helping me to get this up and running! You’re welcome to reach out to any one of us!

A little about Liz and Rod Glupker. They’re a very kind and giving couple who've been giving back to our community for the last 5 years since opening their store, CBD Store of Michigan, in Fremont. They have been married for 10 years, with a combined family with four wonderful children and 11 amazing grandchildren, expecting their 12th early 2024.

Liz is a lover of Polish food. She has enjoyed traveling in years past and now just enjoys the simple life of hanging out at her parent's home on Pickerel Lake in Newaygo. She loves art and paints Christmas cards for her friends and family. Rod states “She is a great wife and business partner. She is loved by all that have met her.”

Just to highlight a little bit of Liz’s cancer journey…

Liz was 4 years old when she had her first bout with cancer. She spent a lot of her childhood in and out of hospitals. That is where her anxiety came from and she has struggled with anxiety ever since.

In 2020, she had cancer make an appearance again. Doctors were able to do surgery to remove it, but that also meant taking much of her intestines with it. This making it difficult to eat most foods. This has caused her to lose a lot of weight. The doctors were confident that they removed all the cancer. However, in late 2022, she was diagnosed with cancer again. The cancer has spread throughout her body including but not limited to her digestive system, lungs and more. Her last check up at the doctors, she was down to 87 lbs and she had to have magnesium and potassium infusion. She is very weak. Doctors said that she will never live another day without cancer because it has been so aggressive. At this point, they are just taking each day as a blessing.

The doctors bills from the 2020 cancer took hold of them. They are more than $40,000 in debt from that round alone. She was able to get medicare for this year. But they will probably never be able to catch up from 2020. They have a $6000 co-pay every year and are coming up on another co-pay cycle in January.

They have been wanting to get a house for Liz to get into easier than their second floor apartment. She does not have the strength to get up the stairs. The housing market is just not going to be in their favor at this time. Her husband works 6 days a week to try to keep them from drowning in debt, but it is just not enough.

Please consider donating to this wonderful family in our small community and keep them in your prayers during this difficult time. Thank you for taking the time to read and please feel free to share with others.
