It is with heavy hearts and unimaginable grief that we share the devastating loss of our beloved Alberto Jr. “Junior” Peres, who was tragically killed on July 6, 2025, due to senseless gun violence. He was just three days away from celebrating his 19th birthday on July 9.

We know violence is claiming the lives of far too many of our youth, and heartbreakingly, Junior became a victim of that today.

Junior was part of the close-knit Peres family, which includes his loving mother Danaé, his father Albert, his brother Vale, his sisters Alessandra and Jazmine, and their many fur babies including Chico, their puppy. The pain of losing him is something no family should ever have to endure. The shock has rippled through our little community of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and other loved ones who are all grieving this unimaginable loss.

Junior was the kind of person you couldn’t help but love. He was funny and always smiling with his squinty face. He had a laugh that was truly unforgettable. He brought so much light to those around him, and that light will be deeply missed.
