We Lost Our Home, We’re Hungry, and I Can No Longer Endure
Donation protected
My name is Mai Khaled, a mother of two boys, Alaa and Yazan. We used to live a peaceful life in a 250 m² apartment in Gaza. I was studying Interior Design at Gaza Community College, and we had dreams like any other family.
Then the war changed everything.
In one moment, we lost it all.
Our home was destroyed, my husband lost his job, and all our savings were gone trying to survive the unimaginable.
We’ve been forcibly displaced more than six times.
Each time we move, we face harsh treatment from those around us and live in terrible conditions.
We suffer daily from hunger, lack of clean water, food shortages, and no access to basic needs.
Our children are growing up surrounded by fear, hunger, and instability.
We tried everything to leave Gaza and find safety. My husband borrowed money from friends to register for travel, but on May 7, 2024, Rafah Crossing was closed, and we were unable to leave.
Part of the money was refunded, but most was spent on daily survival — which has become extremely expensive.
Now, we have a rare opportunity to leave Gaza through Kerem Shalom Crossing, but it requires a large payment we simply cannot afford.
I hesitated for a long time before creating this donation link.
I was ashamed, I prayed, I hoped — but now I’ve reached the point where I can no longer endure.
I’m asking for your support — not just for me, but for my children. Help me repay our debts, feed my sons, and take them to safety.
If you can’t donate, please at least share this link — your share might reach someone who can change our fate.
May God bless you for your kindness and compassion.
