Joshua was my brother. As the oldest of ten siblings, he carried the weight of responsibility with quiet strength, love, and unwavering determination. He was the most hardworking and kindhearted soul I have ever known, always putting others before himself and dreaming of a better future for our family.
Just as it felt like life was finally falling into place, everything was taken from us. Joshua took immense pride in his work as a United States Postal Service carrier. For months, he worked tirelessly and had recently passed probation, a milestone he was incredibly proud of, and he was looking forward to the day he would earn his permanent route. Just last week, he proudly drove home the first car he had ever bought, something he had worked so hard for. He was finally beginning to build the future he had dreamed of, step by step, with so much hope.
But Joshua’s dreams were never just for himself. He told our mom with excitement that he wanted to save enough to buy a home for our parents, so they would never have to worry again. That was who he was, selfless, driven, and deeply devoted to his family.
He showed his love in the smallest, most meaningful ways. He would ask if we had eaten and go out to bring us food. He patiently taught our younger siblings how to drive. He helped with errands without ever being asked. If we hadn’t seen each other in a while, he would call just to check in, asking if we were okay, if we needed anything, or if we were coming by. Sometimes, he would even offer us pocket money, just to make sure we were taken care of. These quiet acts of love meant everything, and they are what we will miss the most.
On the evening of May 2nd, 2026, Joshua had just finished his route, turned in his postal vehicle, and was heading home after a long day. He was only two minutes away, just around the corner from our home, when a semi-truck collided with his car. He was found unresponsive at the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he tragically passed away, alone.
Joshua was still in his work uniform, wearing the badge he carried with so much pride, when he arrived at the medical examiner’s office. It was that badge that helped identify him. Shortly after, my parents received a knock on their door, a knock no parent should ever have to answer, bringing news that shattered our world forever.
The pain of losing Joshua so suddenly is beyond words. Our hearts are broken, and our family is trying to navigate a loss that feels impossible to accept. His absence has left a space in our lives that can never be filled.
We are asking for any support during this incredibly difficult time to help cover funeral expenses and ease the financial burden on our family. Any contribution, no matter how small, means more to us than we can express. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers and share Joshua’s story.
We are deeply grateful for your kindness, your support, and for taking the time to honor Joshua’s life with us.
