As you may know, our dear friend, Karen Salazar, is in recovery after her heart transplant at University of San Francisco Medical. She has been an incredible warrior through this massive procedure and difficult recovery. Currently, her kidneys are still struggling to regain function. For those of you that know Karen, you know that she is the first one to give selflessly of herself and do whatever it takes to not be a burden on anyone. Few people even knew that she had a heart condition, yet she carried on faithfully sewing for her clients and caring for her family with a fraction of her heart functioning. She wouldn’t even think of going on disability! She constantly amazes us with her humility, work ethic, and generosity towards so many. But now in this time of her recovery, with all the expenses of the follow-up care, anti-rejection meds, and travel expenses & being unable to work, it would be such a blessing to give back to our treasured friend, so that all she has to think about is getting well, and how much God, her family and friends all love her. We are so grateful that the Lord has carried her through this, providing her a heart that is responding well, so she has a new lease on life.
