Our dear friend Kaitlyn’s life changed dramatically on April 29th after she experienced serious complications following a cardiac ablation.

Since then, she has remained in the CVICU at the Mazankowski Heart Institute in Edmonton where she has undergone multiple surgeries and continues to rely on life-sustaining treatment. Her medical team is working tirelessly to stabilize her and give her the best possible chance at recovery.

Kaitlyn will require additional surgeries in the near future and is expected to eventually need a heart transplant. While there are still many unknowns, she has shown encouraging signs and is receiving exceptional care.

Anyone who knows Kaitlyn can attest to how extraordinary she is - a loving daughter and sister, an amazing friend, a compassionate nurse, and a talented baker. Even in the face of this immense challenge her sense of humour remains, and she continues to show remarkable resilience and strength.

The road ahead will be long. This fundraiser has been created to help ease the financial burden from lost wages and ongoing expenses, allowing Kaitlyn to focus fully on her recovery and healing in the months to come.
