Growing into 20,000 Website Subscribers

Have you ever created something that seemed to take on a life of its own? Well, that's my story. My name is Nehemiah D. Frank, and I'm the founder and editor in chief of The Black Wall Street Times  (BWSTimes). The BWSTimes is a social and digital news media company that I began in my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, home of America's original Black Wall Street.

When I started the BWSTimes, my friend Mikael warned me that I was standing in front of a waterfall. Only, I didn't know quite what he meant at the time. This past year, I've been entirely underwater when it comes to being technically savvy.

The BWSTimes reached 15,600+ website subscribers since its first published article in February 2017. As a freshmen business owner, who's still wet behind the ears, I had forgotten that I connected the MailChimp account to the website.

MailChimp is a marketing automation platform and an email marketing service. It allows its clients to have up to 2000 email subscribers before it starts charging them monthly, per every 1000 plus email subscribers.

The BWSTimes passed 2000 some time ago.

LOL!

For the remaining two quarters in 2019, it will cost the BWSTimes $1,371.00 to maintain those emails with room to grow to 20,000 website subscribers. Once we pay the fee, we can tap into the 13,600 subscribers and provided them the content they signed up for, which by default opens up additional income at the BWSTimes so we can continue making an impact on our city, our region, and nation.

Why The Black Wall Street Times is a free subscription base:

The racial wealth gap between the African-American household and their counterparts is America's most pressing epidemic.

According to the New York Times, “for every $100 in white family wealth, black families hold just $5.04,” which is why The Black Wall Street Times doesn’t charge a subscription for access to information that could potentially impact their lives in a meaningful and positive way.

Help us provide the gift of access because access is a civil right.

Sincerely,

Neo
