We Grow Dreams Inc (We Grow Dreams Nursery and Greenhouse)

OUR MISSION: TO PROVIDE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD FULFILLING LIVES AND TO TRAIN AND WORK IN A SUPPORTIVE, SAFE AND CARING ENVIRONMENT WHILE PRODUCING AND PROVIDING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY.

Our Story

Every parent has dreams for their children – for their happiness and a promising future. For most parents of children born with disabilities, those dreams seem unattainable. A few families never stopped dreaming of what was possible for their kids. Despite numerous medical and educational obstacles, these parents refused to accept that their child could not experience a meaningful and productive life. This small group of families founded We Grow Dreams Inc., a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. The newly formed not-for-profit bought a failing 5-acre commercial greenhouse property in need of extensive repairs. They believed that the greenhouse would enable their children and others like them to learn social skills and achieve a sense of accomplishment while producing plants and flowers for sale in a community setting.

For our bold grass-roots approach, families, friends and community volunteers donated their skills and thousands of hours of hard work to restore dilapidated greenhouses and construct accessible pathways to create a functional and safe environment. This work by many families and volunteers continues today! This year we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary.

Our Team Members

We Grow Dreams provides a work environment where everyone is accepted for who they are. Regardless of their unique challenges there is a place for each of our Team Members to learn and grow. They are enjoying their work as active community members. Some jobs that our Team Members enjoy include filling pots with soil for seeds/seedlings, transplanting, spacing plant materials, watering, stocking plants/supplies, greeting & assisting customers, folding cartons, office tasks and maintenance tasks. Our Team Members also manufacture garden bricks, birdbaths, birdhouses, planters and other garden accessories that are sold in our retail area.

Why We Need Your Support.

These funds are needed to continue our mission, expand our programs to accommodate additional Team Members, provide scholarships and update our facilities.

There are two additional ways to contribute your tax deductible donation to our Capital Campaign:

Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and

Qualified Charitable Donations, for those who are age-qualified
