We get by with a little help from our friends

My little sister and her little family were involved in a terrible car accident this past Sunday. They were going through an intersection in Magna, Utah (SR-201 & 8400 W) when a negligent driver ran a red light at high speeds and T-boned their vehicle. My sister, husband, and son were all rushed to the hospital for thorough evaluations. She suffered multiple pelvic fractures and had multiple lacerations from head to toe; her son broke his clavicle; and her husband sustained injuries to his head and knee from the impact. All of them have concussions. They felt lucky to be alive. Sadly, they’re in the wake of this distressing incident and feeling the weight of not only the physical/emotional pain, but also the financial burden ahead. 

They came to Utah from Colorado to visit family and purchase the used vehicle they were driving with their savings. They had the car less than 24 hours—and now it’s totaled. Additionally, it will be some time before both my sister and her husband will be able to return to full activity at home and work, with my sister’s recovery being 12 weeks or more.

I don’t usually ask for help, but my relatives are in a real time of need. I’m hoping all who see this can band together and give this poor family some relief while they heal and figure out the next steps. A little help will go a long way. Thanks for your donations and concern
