Earthquake Relief for Venezuela

On June 24, 2026, two powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela just 39 seconds apart. It was a rare seismic doublet, and one of the worst natural disasters the country has faced in more than a century.

The toll has been staggering. More than a month later, the official death count exceeds 5,500, with over 16,700 injured. NASA satellite analysis estimated that nearly 58,870 buildings were damaged or destroyed, and total damage is now estimated at roughly $19.6 billion. Thousands of families across Caracas, La Guaira, and surrounding areas remain homeless.

The emergency phase has passed, and the long, difficult work of recovery has begun — rebuilding homes, restoring schools and health facilities, and helping displaced families regain stability.
