We Care About Kathy

Kathy Staab is currently a middle school science teacher at the Jordan Road School in Somers Point, NJ, having worked in the district since 2004. She is a breast cancer survivor and a widow, having lost her beloved husband Chuck to ALS in 2016. Kathy's first career was in nursing, another helping profession. She is also the proud mother of three adult children: Chuck, Mike and Jenn.  Kathy has always taken care of other people, but now she needs some help in caring for herself.

Kathy was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, and will be starting a course of chemotherapy. As a result, she is unable to work this summer and has no income. Once school starts, she will need to take off days without pay. She has been told that lymphoma frequently comes back, so Kathy wants to save her precious few sick days. 

As Kathy's friends, we would like her to be able to focus her energies on getting well. She has many tough days ahead in dealing with the fatigue and illness a a result of the chemotherapy. If we could help ease Kathy's financial worries, that would be a concrete way to show her how much we care.
