We Care About Foreign Aid
At Hope and Homes for Children, we care about getting the 5.4 million children in orphanages Back to Family.
80% of these children are not orphans. They have family who could care for them if they had the right support.
But the cruel cuts and freezes to Foreign Aid are making providing that support even harder.
Our work in India lost its USAID funding overnight, and is at risk of having to stop completely.
Our team in Rwanda is also having to step in to support other services whose funding has been frozen.
The global picture is devastating. According to the Lancet Commission (2025), USAID cuts are projected to result in 14 million additional deaths, including 4.5 million children. And that’s without even factoring in the impact of reduced aid budgets from other countries, including the UK, which will only deepen the crisis.
- Please donate to our crowdfunder and help us continue supporting children like Sonia*, whose family were thrown into crisis when her father died suddenly.
Our team were able to help her get Back to Family – but now they might not be there for other children.
We’re among the 20% of people in the UK who oppose cutting foreign aid. The people who’ll stand in support of the world’s most vulnerable, because we know it’s the right thing to do.
If you also believe that children everywhere should grow up with love, safety and care, please donate to our crowdfunding campaign to raise £120,000 to keep our vital support services running.
