We Can Lighten the Journey for Jerry (Moon) and His Family.

Dear Family and Friends,

I am sharing the following on behalf of our brother, Jerry (Moon) Murtagh, and his family. It is our deep hope that through this platform we can keep them financially whole in the healing journey that Jerry is on so he can send his energy fully toward himself and his family.

Jerry and his wife never imagined they would be in this situation, but here they are - and here we are, ready to embrace and hold them up.

Just this past April, only two weeks after their sweet baby girl was born, Jerry was shockingly diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma of the neck.

Shortly after the diagnosis, Jerry began radiation and chemotherapy. The treatment's disabling side effects, including pain, fatigue, and inability to eat, prompted them to explore alternative treatments.

After extensive research, a state-of-the-art treatment center with a higher long term success rate and considerably less side effects was found.

They have decided that this is the direction that they would like Jerry to embark on for his next stage of treatment.

This center is considered one of the best treatment centers in the world, utilizing the latest technology with a proven track record of success run by a team of oncologists. However, unfortunately, it is quite expensive and not covered by insurance.

Due to having a new baby and Jerry's inability to work since treatment began, their family could use any financial assistance to help cover the expenses for the center, travel and follow-up visits.

The treatment center cost is $35,000

Travel will be roughly $2000

Follow-up visits costs are still unknown at this time but can be upwards of $10,000 or more.

We had originally opted to keep this matter private and as such, had just reached out to friends and family, but now it is apparent that the costs are not fixed and will continue to increase. For those who would like to help (and are able to) we are widening our circle of support.
